Terry Fox Walk

posted Sep 18, 2020, 8:48 AM by Kim Jimmo

This year marks the 40th Anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope.  While the Terry Fox run will look a little different this year, let us all take inspiration from the way Terry rose above the many challenges that met him on the Marathon of Hope and make this year's event a safe, fun, and memorable one.

The Event

In honour of this event, each class at St. Clare’s has chosen a creative activity, be it educational or physical in nature.  This year’s campaign is entitled “What’s Your 40?” and will take place up to and including October 2nd 2020.

In addition to the ‘What’s Your 40’, on Friday October 2nd (rain or shine) each class will walk a modified route with their class.

How to Fundraise

Online fundraising is the safest and best way.  This means there will be no fundraising forms this year.  Simply click HERE to access St. Clare’s school fundraising link.

Students are encouraged to get on board too by setting up their own fundraising page under our school link.  Simply click on the fundraising link above and look for the “Students: Set-up Your Fundraising Page” button on the right of the page.  It’s easy, safe, and donors are issued receipts immediately.

Please complete your fundraising by Friday October 2nd!

Our Fundraising Goal this year is $1500!

If we raise $1000 the students can get an extra 15 minutes of recess.

If we raise $1500 participating teachers will get pied in the face (live streamed on Google Meet).

Most of us have been impacted in some way by cancer personally or through a friend or family member.  Together, we can make a difference in the fight against this widespread far-reaching disease.
